2009

I first joined Newgrounds this April. April 29/09. I can remember that day. I came to Newgrounds so exited to exhibit my first flash of many. I'm sure you may know it already. The very first version was blammed, and the only reviewer wasn't very helpful, so as you may think, that kind of surprised me. I didn't let that get me down though. I got back on my feet and kept going. That night I submitted a remake of that movie. It was blammed but it died with a little more of a better score, and finally, the very next Thursday, my first submission made it in to the public. Halloween Night, or as it was called then, an early trick or treater. It wasn't even Halloween. I was back happy again, although I was unhappy about the scores. I couldn't thank this more to than Sycther123. Anyways, moving on. After that I remade my other movies, to make sure they didn't get blammed, I submitted them one-by-one. The scores came out not-to-good, but I reassured my self by thinking that those were my older ones, and the newer ones could get better scores. Boy was I ever wrong... The first submission I submitted realtime was the Dark~Chicken189 in May, but it got yet another bad score. I was confused, baffled, or whatever you may call it. That is what introduced me to Audacity, by a reviewer named Mogget128723 (Who has a pretty cool sieries running, I suggest you check it out.) I worked, still submitting flash to newgrounds, and I still saw no improvement in the scores. One time although, I worked perposturously hard on a Music video synced to the song Nothing to Lose by Billy Talent. In the Month of June I came out with Just follow the clouds. One of the viewers who watched this movie, already a friend of mine was aevear. It caused him to create an account. ACHIEVEMENT. It didn't stop there though, I kept on submitting, scores still hovering around a 2.50. I tried making games like Tuning in... and I even based a flash off of a dream. (The show and tell show), Then came July... July was a sloooooow month for me. I don't know what happened, I think my hand might have skipped a beat, but then came August, and on clock day I submitted There might B time... AWESOME reviews FIRST score that was over a 3.00! ACHIEVEMENT! It didn't stop there though. My success rose to a measurable level in September! A 3-month project of epic perportions reached a level of deserves-an-award. Daily 10th for the movie F L i G H T. Best experience on Newgrounds ever. October was my birth month, I did submit a Flash for that, but then... that's when it came in to my life. On 10/10/09 I submitted A remix of my very first submission (Halloween Night), and It rose to a 3.2-something, but then, the horrible 0-bomber came, and with a mighty blow knocked the score of it, and all my other submissions down. Scores were decreasing like crazy, and I had no choice but to delete, I chose a sh*t load of the movies that were my worst, and BANG! deleted them, and that very night, the evil 0 bomber crawled back into his smelly pigsty. Tales of Deep, a movie that had got the most AWESOME REVIEWS EVAR, and 3 favorites was effected by the 0-bombing. My submission count lowered drastically. It wasn't a time to give up though. When November fell over, I was asked for the first time by a friend to animate something for him. The result? Brilliance. It got a 3.16. The year was coming to an end right there, so I created a Demo Reel for the year of 09. I could say it turned out quite well. That was pretty much it, except for a small Christmas Movie that got a 3.10.
EDIT: Oh yah, I forgot to say that about mid-june, I picked a random submission with a low score from the recently submitted list, and subscribe to that user, and watch him/her through out there time on Newgrounds, so when they become famous on Newgrounds you would know them well. Interesting right? The great submission I picked belonged none other than to lohrel21! His games were great already, so I supose you should go check them out.

So that wraps up my year. It was an exciting first year on Newgrounds. I went from an average score of 2.00 to an average of a 3.00.

My new years resolution (for NG only) is to get above a 4.00 in score.

Thank you for those of you who supported me! (especially you, kakunaman), and also Thank you to Channe lnfinity for letting me voice act for his movies! :)

Now to wrap it up for 09 here is a little picture that sums up the year

You got a lot of potential I think. Your animations are looking better and better; a 4+ will not be too hard if you work at it.

Good luck with your animations.

My animations are looking better and better? Thank you, you are the only person (besides my parents) who has ever told me that. I really appreciate it :)

G'day Jack.

You have honoured me by mentioning me in this blog post. I remember the first time I noticed one of your flashes. It was Tales of Deep. That's still my favourite of your flashes, even if it isn't your highest scoring one.

4.00 is a tough score to get, but you can do it. Hopefully you can break 3.50 with your next one.

I'll be working on it :)
