My scores of 2010 are actually worse than the ones at the end of 2009. So my decision?

If I want to make it, I really need to get my act together. No fooling this time, I'm dead serious.

I sure hope the next one will at least make a 3.50. :P

I think your average score is higher than last year so far. 3.2 vs about 2.9.

3.5 is realistic if you try to be a little more "mainstream" so to speak. Your animations have been kind of strange lately, which isn't bad, but it's a hit & miss for most people. You're aiming for a niche audience which won't impress the masses, but rather attracting a few people with open minds.

To be mainstream you could try and make linear storylines for your animations, something people can predict to a certain extent. Having reoccurring characters in your animations helps people get into what they are watching faster. Although if you wanted to continue being experimental, then you will have to work on doing your own thing better for better feedback. Experimental videos don't get popular easily, but it's not a lofty goal to make excellent experimental animations.

So you can either work on polishing what you can already do (ie improving audio quality and movement) or try branching out to a genre which people will readily accept like slapstick comedy, action, parody, etc.

At any rate, you're improving. You don't need high scores to see that.

Good idea. I'll work on this...

There's no question that you can do it.

I enjoy your odd storylines, but making them more logical would probably help your scores.

One other thing you might want to consider is using the line tool. I know you can't stand it, but some things just look better with it. I'm not saying to go crazy and use it for everything. If you did that, it wouldn't be your style anymore. But keep an open mind and use it to augment your art.

Lastly, take the time to review your work and look for ways that you can improve it. When you finish, look over it and see what could be improved. If it takes longer, do it anyway.

You've got the skills. All you need to do is apply them properly.

Thanks :)
